The German Embassy in Washington, D.C. is the Federal Republic of Germany's diplomatic mission to the United States. The German Chancery and Residence are located at 4645 Reservoir Road, Northwest, Washington, D.C.[1] The Chancery was designed by Egon Eiermann, and opened on May 11, 1964. In September 1994, the residence reopened with an extension designed by Cologne based architect O.M. Ungers.

The current German ambassador to the United States is Peter Ammon. He presented his credentials to President Obama on August 9, 2011.[2]
